The Monster in The Closet p.1

                                            part I ch. I

         “How do I look?” Sakura asked coming out of the bathroom leaning on the door frame in her NEW night gown. Naruto looked up from his work, relaxed. Once he saw Sakura though, his jaw dropped to the floor.
        “YOU LOOK HOT!!” he howled.
        “Oh shut up, Hound,” she joked, getting into bed. Naruto immediately got up from his work counter and got in next to her.
       “I thought you had work to do?” Sakura asked getting out her novel.
        “Well, all work and no play makes me a sad boy,” he pouted.
        “Well, the ‘play ground’ IS OFF LIMITS TONIGHT!!!” Sakura bellowed.
        “AWWW, COME ON!” Naruto pleaded.
        “MOMMY! DADDY!” little Destry called, her voice getting louder with every step. Soon she bursted through the door and jumped into their bed; she cuddled up between the both of them, staring at the open door leading into her bedroom.
        “What’s wrong sweetie?” Sakura said scooting next to her 5-year-old daughter, stroking her hair.
        “Th-th-there’s a MONSTER in m-my closet!” she squeaked pointing to her room.
        “But, why can’t we?” Naruto whispered over his daughter’s head to Sakura.
        “NARUTO!” she whispered loudly, “Destry is in here!”
         Letting out a sigh Naruto cuddled up to his little kid and slumped down so he was face to face with her.
         “Hey,” he said softly to her, “How about we get that monster, Kiddo?”
        “B-b-but it might eat me…” Destry shuddered.
        “Don’t worry Kitten, as long as I’m here nothing will ‘eat you’,” he winked giving her a little thumbs up. She managed to give him a little smile even though she was still a bit scared.
        Naruto picked her up and carried her to her bedroom door. He lightly put her feet on the ground and grabbed her tiny hand. She looked up at him still a little uneasy, but being good ‘ol Naruto, he gave her a big confident smile. She rubbed her nose and cracked a small smile back. They both walked into her room and to her closet door. Terrified, Destry let go of her father’s hand and went behind one of his overly-muscular legs and clenched onto his night pants. Naruto smiled tenderly, looking down at her. Putting one hand on her head, he opened the door, making it creak loudly.
        “Now, see honey, there’s nothing to fear,” Naruto said lovingly, bending down next to her, “Look,” he opened the door further to reveal an old costume that Destry wore when she was a baby. She blushed looking up at Naruto, smiling a big Uzumaki smile.
        “Thank you Daddy!” She ran over to her new ‘big girl’ bed, “Can you tuck me in?” she asked snuggled down into her messy, fluffy covers.
        “Of course, Kitten,” he said softening his eyes, walking over to one side of her. She snuggled down more and rested her head on the pillow. Naruto pulled the covers up and smoothed them out. Kissing her on the forehead, she closed her eyes for a good night’s sleep.
        “Good night, my little princess,” he whispered walking out of her room, making sure the night light was still shinning bright. Once Naruto got back into his own room, he got back into bed, looking at Sakura who was reading her book…
       “How ‘bout now?” he asked anxiously. Sakura stared at him, putting down her book.
        “GOOD NIGHT, Naruto,” she said in her normal annoyed voice.
        “Awww, fine…” Naruto folded his arms,” Can I at least get a kiss?”
        “Hmhm, of course…” she giggled. They kissed each other good night. And for once that WHOLE day, it was quiet at the Uzumaki house.    

                                  Ch. II

        “DESTRY! NARUTO! ARE YOU TWO READY YET?!” Sakura yelled by the front door, “WE’RE LATE AS IS!”
        “Coming, coming, coming…” Naruto said quickly hopping down the stairs with Destry in one arm and his shoe in the other hand. Sakura stared at the two of them blankly. Naruto’s hair wasn’t combed, and Destry had non-matching clothes, shoes, AND socks.
        “Oh NO! No child of mine is going out in PUBLIC wearing THAT!” Sakura snapped.
        “What’s wrong with this?! She has clothes on, doesn’t she?!” Naruto said confused.
        “What were you guys doing this WHOLE TIME?!” Sakura questioned.
        “PLAYING VIDEO GAMES!!! Destry yelled throwing both arms in the air.
         Sakura smacked her own head and growled through gritted teeth, “Just go change her into the clothes I set out for her.”
        “But Sakura, we’re late,” Naruto said scratching his head.
        “GO! NOW!” Sakura exploded pointing to the stairs.
        “Ok, ok sheesh…” Naruto said over his shoulder, lazily walking up the stairs.
        “That’s better,” Sakura said satisfied.
        Once the three Uzumakis arrived at the Nara’s household, the party was quickly up and running.
        “This is a great picnic you set up Ino,” Sakura complimented.   
        “Yeah, it IS pretty good, huh...” Ino agreed.
        “Hi, Shakino!” little Destry called out to her older friend.
        “Hey, Destry! Come sit with us!” Shakino called back waving her hand to get Destry’s attention. Destry ran over to the two siblings sitting on a small picnic table. Ando scooted over a bit so she could sit down.
        “What cha guys doin’?” Destry asked them.
        “Oh, nothin’… just waiting for lunch,” Shakino said perking up, seeing her mom bring their hamburgers to the table.
      “Here you go, little ones,” she said putting down the plate in front of them, “but be careful. They may still be hot.”
      They all nodded and started to chow down.
      “Mmmmmm” Ando muttered stuffing more food in his face.
       “ANDO!!! Be a gentleman and CHEW your food,” Ino snapped.
       “Sorry, Mom,” Ando said swallowing his food. Destry and Shakino giggled. It was a fun day for all of them.
